Lift-Off! A game for treating selective mutism
Lift-Off! A game for treating selective mutism

Lift-Off! is a mobile game designed by RETRO laboratories which aims to help clinicians treat children with selective mutism. This game recently won an award at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare 2013.

I was brought on board this project to not only run direct participant observation, but also create a usability report on the current prototype of the game. When running participants, I not only observed how they interacted with the program, but also how they were able to flow from one task to the next.  In addition, I conducted a semi-structured interview as to how the game could be improved. Once I was finished collecting data, I created a usability report based on my current findings as well as submitted suggestions for possible changes that could improve the game based on our findings.
