Guardian Angel was the second major usability project that I worked on during my time at RETRO laboratories. It is a serious game for recovering alcoholics, in which they learned to resist temptations both by themselves and with friends. This was my first project where I was the lead usability specialist, running usability tests at the end of a design cycle to assess whether it was beneficial to continue with the iterative design process.
Much of my time was spent not only examining the simulation as a whole, but also examining the many mini-games which this game was comprised of. In addition, I had to work to simplify many of the game’s systems, which did not work.
Upon completion of the usability analysis, I created a report and submitted it to the head of the lab, although the project still remains in hiatus at this moment.
